We would like to present new band in Karrot Kommando family - DUP! - a group which had recently released an album in JaMajka Music - label owned by Majka Jeżowska. The story is interesting itself as Majka is polish children's music superstar. This time though she decided to support Silesian passionated musicians by releasing their musical experiment. Karrot Komando is honoured to take care of organisation of concerts of project DUP!.

DUP! took as a goal to revive the atmosphere of dub music, which developed 40 years ago in Jamaica.

At that time, people from this small Carribean island managed to change the way of thinking about mixing process. They used an equipment known in USA and Europe, but in a very unusual, rough way. - says one of the initiators of the project, Radosław "Emzk" Ciurko - In this way new mixing techniques were invented and found their place in the mainstream of modern music. These techniques started modern mixing school all over the world, i.e. for hip-hop and electronics.

Majka Jezowska makes totally different music, but we support this project and believe in it - says Dariusz Staśkiewicz from JaMajka Music. - We've met Radek. We think what he does with his friends is quite interesting and worth investing. That's why the project is signed with our logo.

The band's crew consist of well-known musicians from bands such as Jamal, Paprika Korps, Bakshish or Tumbao. Tracks were recorded In Something Like Studio in Krapkowice and than transformed in many different ways.

I've been buying equipment from these times for years. While working on DUP! project I inspired myself with techniques that had been used back then. I tried to keep my artistic way even when I had to use contemporary technology - laughs the producer - just like Jamaicans in 70'!

Effects of this work have been upgraded by Marcin Bors from studio Fonoplastykon in Wrocław. Marcin Bors is a producer of best sellers Hey and Lao Che. Longplay titled "DUP! - Session in Something Like Studio" is available now in stores on CDs and vinyls.
