22 years of hard work, hundreds of played shows, against musical fashions, in defiance of radio charts. Ladies and gentlemans, here comes the legend of polish reggae scene, real community, friendship, the biggest inna the area - BAKSHISH.

The band was born in small town in south-western part of Poland called Kluczbork. Later the same town will be called polish Kingstone, because of many bands and musicians who were strongly inspired by Bakshish tunes. Their sound spread out very fast among whole country as a significant ingredient of golden era of polish reggae music that decade.

After explosive beginning of eighties, receiving few important musical awards and few months spent in polish capital Warsaw, BAKSHISH came back to Kluczbork. As a result of breaking contacts with Warsaw, Bakshish lost chance to appear in TV and to negotiate with official music companies. Still not that fact was the most important. Bakshish fans. Crowds of people on gigs and festivals with Bakshish - that was the main and undeniable power of the band.

The first album was possible to be published just in a new reality of nineties. Once again, fans didn't forget about their favourite group. "One Love" spread out in 1993 in huge amount of copies. Unfortunately in 1994 after publishing second album "Eye" and complete lack of promotion cooperation with new publisher had to be finished.

Defeat? Of course not! That was just another lesson for Bakshish. Real fans didn't care about music charts, they appreciated powerful shows, which contained more and more of new songs. Those became hits even before they were published. That's why next album "B3" published in 2000 could be easily called "The best of...".

Meanwhile band had to reduce their concert activity due to serious illness of Ja-rex - the leader of the band. Spiritual as well as financial support was sent to Jarex from fans, friendly bands, charity organizations etc. Difficult but fortunately successful surgery was done in 2002. That event opened new way for band's existence.

Bakshish is a gift. According to Ja-rex words band wants now to give their music to all of those who sent positive thoughts to Bakshish for so many years.

Ja-rex works now in a capital of Opole province as a director of a Cultural Center. His huge contribution in activating and popularizing the local cultural life is noticeable and appreciated by youth as well as by authorities.

Also Bakshish doesn't fall in a stagnation proper for a legendary ranked bands. They're still producing and performing with the same power both new and 20 years old songs!
